Bible Journaling Templates

It took me a while to try Bible journaling, but now my oldest daughter and I really enjoy doing it together. We found some free printables online, but after a time, we started coming up with our own designs on Canva. We’re not graphic designers, and our artistic efforts are far from perfect, but we glean much from emphasizing verses in the blank columns on our Bibles’ pages. In case there are other Bible journalers out there who, like us, want to make artistic designs but are a little too nervous to freehand in the pages of a Holy Bible, we decided to share the templates we’ve come up with.

We both have Thomas Nelson NKJV Journal the Word Bibles, although they are slightly different (one is hardcover, one is soft, and the hardcover is Large Print), and these templates fit in the empty journal space in both Bibles. If they print out too large for your Bible, try decreasing the scale in your print settings. Or trace them into a separate journal. If tracing isn’t your jam, print them on cardstock and make them into bookmarks or glue them into your planner.

We use colored pencils, and as you can see in the picture on the left, the colored pencils can make the paper a little wrinkly if you press too hard, especially if the pencils are very sharp.

There you have it! I hope you enjoy these templates as much as we’ve enjoyed making and decorating them. Fellow Bible journalers, what pens/pencils have you found that work well?
